The aqua green colour of the Mediterranean off the shores of Civitiavecchia is incredibly enticing. In fact everything about sailing is captivating as far as I am concerned. I was up before 6:00am to get ready for my flight to Rome before boarding the wonderful Celebrity Silhouette. I have wanted to sail on a Celebrity ship for a long time and it is great to be on the 2,886 passenger Celebrity Silhouette on this visit to Egypt, Santorini and the Holy Land. I was able to view Silhouette last summer in Hamburg when she was freshly ‘hatched’ and just delivered from the shipyard. Of course, a 12 day cruise will give me the opportunity to experience everything on board and get a real feel for this ship. My birthday is tomorrow and we will be at sea. So, I think the perfect time to book a spa treatment. I have opted for the blissful sounding Absolute Spa Ritual which includes an Elemis Quartz Collagen Facial as well as a full body massage. Is there a better way to celebrate officially passing into senior’hood’? As I will have passed 55 years old, I must officially be a senior now. Actually, I don’t think it counts until I get my Freedom Pass to use on the London Underground and buses. I am off to have an early dinner having skipped lunch and am looking forward to tonight’s entertainment. I will tell all about the spa treatment tomorrow.
