Thomson Majesty launches on 4th May and is part of Platinum Cruises range

The event was ‘majestic’ as Thomson Cruises presented its new Platinum Cruises programme at the National Theatre’s DECK last night. The rain poured down but spirits were high in this conservatory type venue and it was great to see Thomson celebrating its cruise product in style.

There was news afloat and the first announcement was that their new ship, the 40,876 ton, 1,462-passenger ship Thomson Majestic, will launch on 4th May with its first sailing from Corfu. As this new ship will be part of the Thomson Platinum range, expect something special. There will be 5 restaurants (more on that to come) and an elegant up-to-date spa featuring Elemis products and an excellent spa menu of treatments.

The other Thomson ships (Thomson Dream, Thomson Spirit and Thomson Celebration) are all to undergo extensive refurbishments to bring them up to the Platinum level including extras like iPod docking stations. And the great news about Thomson Cruises is that tips and service charges are all still included in the price. Fantastic value for money.

Thomson Destiny is no longer with the fleet and I am sad to see her go but its all steam ahead with these significant improvements to the cruise line.

Fraser Ellcott, MD of Thomson Cruises said, “Our Summer 2013 programme is our best yet with fantastic itineraries and ports of call such as Beirut, Algiers, Istanbul, Torquay and Belfast – there really is something for everyone. As the thrid largest cruise line in the UK we are committed to offering great value for money and our early booking offers are unbeatable.”
